OF DOBERMANNS DE RIZZI

Island of Mallorca
The island of Majorca which we are proud to call our home has been for many years the hub to a large group of Dobermann lovers .

Ebo .v.d. Groote Maat

It was here that dogs such as "Ebo V.D. Groote Maat" began a career that has proven to be instrumental in improving and transforming the breed to todays standards.

This excellent dog could have been ours, but his destiny was to be another, that of becoming one of the best known stud dogs.
In 1974 we acquired our first Dobie, Bronson de los Valientes , a beautiful 5 month old puppy who showed us just how sharp his teeth were on the first night by completely destroying his mattress.

Doto de Candilandya

Our next beautiful pair of puppies: Etina & Doto de Candilandya came to us from a friend and another great lover of the breed, Mr. Valentin Alvarez who was the founder President of the Spanish Dobermann Club.

These two puppies were to launch us into the show circuits where we obtained very good results in Palma de Mallorca, Madrid, Barcelona, Igualada, Tarrega etc.

Fasko v. Krassum

Our good friend Gerardo Meyer was to introduce us to our next Dobie, a magnificent adult male : Fasko v. Krassum. Fasko´s time with us was short as he was to leave us tragically in a dramatic accident. (We still remember you Fasko).

Lord Dayan v. Franckenhorst

Our next adventure was to take us to The Netherlands in search of a male dog. It was here that we had the enormous pleasure to meet Mrs. Dermont (Van Neerlands Stam) & Mrs. Franquemont (V. Franckenhorst).

During this trip to Holland we ended up in Italy after driving over 5.000 kms in four days to collect our next Dobie, Lord Dayan v. Franckenhorst who was to sire a number of excellent dogs such as Ch. Oto de los Valientes.

Earl v. Forell

Another exciting episode took us to Northern France to mate our bitch Etina de Candilandya with World V. Ch. Earl v. Forell and to meet with Msr. Demangeat (De la Morliere) .

Berry v. Douwsbosch

In the early 80´s, we were lucky enough to acquire two dogs that have left their mark on our lives, Berry v. Douwbosch and Anuska v. Herr Stephanitz.

With these two magnificent dogs we were to obtain some of our most rewarding triumphs.

The loss of both these friends was so great that it has taken us 18 years to come back to the world of the Dobermann.
